At Heritage Plastics, we do a wide variety of mineral compounding, but our primary focus continues to be on calcium carbonate. Why calcium? Well, it offers so many advantages besides raw material cost savings. It is a well know reinforcing mineral, offering stiffness and impact improvement, but also increases productivity since it is cooling so much faster than resin. The area and advantage I am particularly passionate about - carbon footprint reduction. Using our CaCO3 concentrates to replace a portion of the resin or petrochemical based component combined with the energy saving due to higher output will reduce the end products level of GHG's, emissions, reduce water usage....the overall carbon footprint!
