Software Engineer / ConsultantArgonne National Laboratory Jan 2017 - Jun 2019Lemont, Il, Us- Led on developing TINT, an open source library in Python for tracking storm cells using radar data. The library takes spatiotemporal radar data (timestamped 3D photos) and uses a visual algorithm to identify and follow individual storm cells throughout their lifespan. Properties of each cell per timestep are output in a pandas dataframe. - Used TINT library in collaboration with NASA GISS studying storm cell evolution in Houston. Co-Author “Use of polarimetric radar measurements to constrain simulated convective cell evolution: A pilot study with Lagrangian tracking” Atmospheric Measurement Techniques, June 2019.- Performed extreme weather risk analysis for AT&T with a team of scientists and consultants. Used Python and R to extract and transform ~10 terabytes of geospatial atmospheric model output on a distributed cluster. Presented figures and established project requirements in weekly teleconferences with client. Received Argonne Pacesetter award for this work.- Presented at the SciPy 2017 conference and the 2018 American Meteorological Society Annual Meeting.- Trained, supervised, and integrated code from summer interns. -
