I have been working in libraries since 1991 when I was an undergraduate student at the University of South Florida, Tampa.As a Social Work major, I left the library to pursue a job more related to my field of study. after two year of disenchantment with the system and the fact I missed the library, I went back to my old position. It was then I realized that being a Librarian was what I wanted to be.In 1996 I packed my things, loaded my car and moved to Portland, Oregon. There, I floundered for about 6 years before finishing up my undergraduate degree in Liberal Studies at Portland State University and beginning a Masters program in Library Science in August of 2003 at Emporia State University's Oregon Cohort.August 2006 I graduated with my MLS from Emporia State University. While I was going to school I was also working as a paraprofessional Library Technical Assistant at Tuality Healthcare. This job and my MLS allowed me the opportunity to apply and get accepted into the National Library of Medicine Associate Fellowship Program.Fellowship ran until August 2007. After the fellowship I became the Outreach Librarian for the University of Maryland, Baltimore Health Science and Human Services Library. I left Baltimore in the Fall of 2011 to work as a Medical Librarian for Inova Fairfax Hospital. As much as I enjoyed working directly and daily with medical students/residents/physicians, nurses, nurse researcher I only worked at Inova for 16 months and have begun a new job as Education and Outreach Coordinator for the National Network of Libraries of Medicine, New England Region.This is my last 10 years or so of my professional life in a nutshell.
