Having worked the last 17 years in community service, I’ve learned that what I love most is connecting with the community. I have a strong operational skill base; I uphold organisational values and I take pride in my work. I am a problem solver who always considers the best outcomes for all stakeholders. I ensure any Government grants and funding are passed on to the community programs that need it the most and all related reporting and compliance is adhered to.CAPABILITIES SUMMARY Stakeholder Engagement – Regularly liaise with community members and local industry, building relationships and gathering anecdotal feedback. Community Engagement – Partnering with a Melbourne University and local secondary schools to work with disengaged youth. Loneliness was also a problem among the elderly, so we set out to build an intergenerational program that benefits both groups. The program was such a success it doubled within 18 months and through surveys, we learned that school attendance increased, elderly wellness improved and graduation rates improved. Strategic Thinking – As the Community Education Manager we decided to grow our Dept. of Education Learn Local Pre Accredited programs delivering employability and capacity building skills. We gathered community and industry feedback and redesigned the course content to the community need. Contract Management Compliance – Aged Care Royal Commission response issued new Aged Care reforms and future standards, as Contract & Program Manager at Sandybeach I rolled out a QIP to meet the new Aged Care Standards. People Leadership – In my last 2 leadership roles at Sandybeach Community Centre, I have led a team of 2-20 staff including direct managers, part-time/ casual staff plus 7-15 volunteers. Social Support and Respite – Whilst working as Contracts and Program Manager at Sandybeach. Contract Management Expertise – As part of my role as Contracts & Program Manager at Sandybeach Centre, I was responsible for annual contracts valued at approx. $800k per year. Pivoting/ Operational Skills – During Covid, I led a team of approx.. 20 staff, and 160+ community members through new Covid regulations and lockdowns from 2020-2022. Operational Skills – Due to my reputation and expertise, I was approached by other community centres (and their Boards) to provide recommendations reports. I analysed their compliance and operational risks, and current processes to provide recommendations reports.
