As a Mechanical Engineer, I utilize Autodesk Inventor® to accurately model and develop 3D designs for everything from standard HDD backplanes to highly-complex MIL-SPEC compliant ATX for in-flight system servers.Using solid modeling allows me to create new structures, pull in existing components from previous designs, perform fit checks, and analyze tolerances quickly and effectively. These models are used extensively in the preliminary design phase of the program to communicate design intent to the customer as well as to departments within the company.Thermal analysis is done using proprietary thermal imaging and chamber equipment or external contracting of Flotherm®.I also utilize Visio for block diagrams and Altium® for both schematic capture and board layout.
