Work experience I have had two main work experiences over the last four years, including retail experience and swim instructing. These jobs provided the opportunity to develop my customer service skills, communication skills, and ability to work alongside a team. They also create the environment for skills like responsibility and accountability to grow over the years. Furthermore, both roles have been a great learning experience and enhanced my ability to work in a professional environment. Career Goals and aspirations In terms of my career aspiration and goals, I have various goals that I hope to achieve once I have finished my conjoint law and business degree at the University of Auckland. Once I have graduated in 2026, I hope to pass the bar exam and become a practising corporate lawyer in New Zealand, where I hope to work for a company as its legal representative. Once I have become a practising lawyer in New Zealand, I hope to become a qualified lawyer in England. This would provide a broader range of job opportunities and support my goal of incorporating travel into my career. My later aspiration for the next 20 years is to open my own law firm in either New Zealand or England and be the CEO of my own business. I think this would be a very challenging and rewarding experience long term. It would also incorporate my goal of working for myself and having a flexible schedule. Although to achieve all of these goals, I must gain experience, which is why my current career goal is to obtain an internship. I am currently looking for an internship opportunity working either in a law firm or within a business in their legal sector. As with an internship, I can build upon the knowledge and skills that I have learnt in my university programs. An internship would also bring exposure to a real work environment, responsibilities, and insight into the role of a corporate lawyer. I would be a perfect candidate as I am organised, have excellent time management skills, and am enthusiastic about challenges. I also thrive in a fast-paced environment and look forward to working alongside fellow employees with similar aspirations. HobbiesOutside of my University life, I have various hobbies, including travelling, cooking, baking, and hiking. My ability to work remotely has developed over the years, especially with conferencing platforms becoming a regular aspect of my university experience. I have developed various skills as a result, including time management, accountability, ability to use excel and overall, the confidence to use these platforms.
