As a senior director of culture and learning at a nonprofit and a self development coach, my work invites folks to bring their introspective selves to the table and ask themselves poignant questions like:Who am I? How does my “why” impact my leadership management? What is hindering me? What is possible for me?The invitation is for leaders, companies, and schools to do the reflective work necessary to provide the folks they serve with the model of self-awareness that is critical for healthy organizational culture. My most important job is to continue to do my own work and continue to be available to myself as I support others in doing the same for themselves. I’ve discovered that of the best ways to do that is to shut up :-) and listen to both what is being said and felt. As a senior director culture and learning at a remote organization, my mission is to ensure we are creating better and more meaningful experiences for our staff— near and far. Organizational culture and structures that support it are essential for staff retention and satisfaction. It is possible to work in a wholesome environment with extraordinary access, opportunities and resources and with leaders who are intentional in their practice. As an educator by training, I am especially excited to share that I started The Audacity Talk Show in 2018 to provide young people a platform to tell their stories of overcome!
