My activities at the Oregon Historical Society focus on analog video materials related to regional public access television programs that were produced during the early 1980s to mid 1990s in Portland, Oregon, with an aim to make the content and its histories more accessible to both staff and outside researchers. This includes basic cataloging of 3/4".

Coordinated filmmaking classes for adult learners by collaborating with the Education Director, Equipment Room staff, and class instructors. Advised and supported diverse students, tracked student progress and discussed goals and expectations. Produced weekly detailed revenue reports of class registrations, analyzed trends, and suggested strategies for.

Validate data lists in excel and check for inconsistencies, inaccuracies, and errors using a number of applications, tools, and historical data. Effectively communicate issues and how to resolve them to clients with a variety of knowledge levels via email and phone. Manage and distribute incoming technical support queries. Directed, shot and edited 50 minute video project, “Castanets: Tendrils” distributed by Asthmatic Kitty, shown on Pitchforkmedia.com as a Web Exclusive, and screened around the US. Press photographs and album art for AK band Castanets.

Strategized the organization of overflow film collections, including setting up an inventory system and shelving as well as physically examining hundreds of individual reels and canisters and describing them as needed. Transported films between Anthology and Filmmaker’s Co-Op. Performed light film inspection, cleaning, re-canning, splicing as needed.

Proofreading and fact checking.

Edited fellow staff reviews with constructive criticism, prepared for posting. Film reviews for a variety of genres with particular interest in avant-garde and silent cinema.
