I plan, develop, organize, and coordinate segments of public affairs activities, including outreach strategies, designed to disseminate information about U.S. foreign policy to targeted domestic public constituencies. Specifically, I solely handle the Foreign Policy Classroom program portfolio, which informs high school and college students about the Department of State’s mission, policy priorities, diplomacy accomplishments, and structure.Additionally, I design and develop assigned segments of communication plans and outreach activities to meet information needs of targeted audiences.I participate in planning and organizing conferences, meetings, and briefings to provide representatives of domestic public organizations with the opportunity to engage in dialogue with senior foreign policy officials.I also Identify and develop opportunities to enhance awareness and understanding of foreign policy and to publicize the domestic public affairs activities and events sponsored by the Bureau.Finally, I monitor the effectiveness of such activities in promoting awareness of U.S. foreign policy, identifies items of policy importance.

I am a staff assistant in the Front Office of the Public Affairs Bureau at the Department of State. My office houses the Assistant Secretary of State (A/S) and several Deputy Assistant Secretaries (DAS) of State for the Public Affairs bureau. We also are the office of the Spokespeople of the Department of State. I maintain the schedules for our office DAS', scheduling meetings with other high level DOS officials such as Ambassadors and other DAS' and A/S. I also oversee and lead other projects, such as the PA Reviews Database, which ensures all correspondence and official requests of all levels of employees are reviewed, and accepted or denied, in a consistent effort to ensure the Department of State's mission is successful.

I am the Executive Assistant to the Directors of the Press Office in the Public Affairs Bureau at the Department of State. I manage the time and attendance of the employees of the Public Affairs Press Office, I field telephone calls, maintain the schedule of the Press Office Director, photocopy and assemble reports and briefings, and receive, file, edit and distribute office documents. I am also responsible for other clerical duties as assigned.

As the CBCF Intern I created, edited and sent out over 10 Press Releases, I composed a blog, explaining my experiences, I helped with the CBCF Katrina Memorial Project, I edited the website, and did general editing as well. I focused on clerical, writing and editing duties primarily. Hours per Week: 40
