Profile bio

About Mia Lulli

I recently graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park (UMD) with a B.S. in Psychology and Spanish. I currently work as an IRTA Post-Baccalaureate Fellow at the National Institute of Drug Abuse (NIDA) in the Neuroimaging Research Branch (NRB). In this position, I investigate the relationship between mindfulness and teen vaping. While earning my B.S. at the University of Maryland, I worked under Dr. Robert Slevc as we studied bilingual communication among Spanish and English speakers residing in this country. I received the Banneker/Key Full Scholarship for all four years, participated in the Honors Humanities honors program, and was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Honors Society during my junior year. I am interested in psychological and physical determinants of health and value looking at mental wellness through a holistic lens. I am especially interested in addiction and trauma. As a Spanish-speaking researcher, I aim to improve the ethnic and linguistic research inequality the Latino community faces.
