I became a QuickBooks ProAdvisor in 2009. A CPA firm in Lampasas referred me to Family Medicine Clinic for their move from PeachTree to Quickbooks. Once that job was complete, the clinic administrator offered me the job of HR and A/P manager, and after a couple of years, I became Business Office Manager. I got my CPC certification in 2013.As Finance Director and Business Office Manager, I did the following: Oversee Accounts Receivable (Billing Staff), Accounts Payable, Human Resources, and Credentialing. Increased net collections 18%, and increased collections as % of net charges from 86% to 95% Reduced A/R days from 39 to 29 Increased net income 6% by reducing overhead expenses, and lowered A/P days from 90+ to 30. Create and maintain QuickBooks files for multiple entities associated with FMC Owners. Created system of reconciling payment posting software with bank receipts and QuickBooks to auditfinancial transactions. Oversee continual use of this reconciliation process. Create and implement policies related to improving A/R efficiency including training staff to useIntergy’s collection module to work past-due claims and work denied claims immediately afterreceiving EOB, thereby reducing staff-hours associated with working A/R. Aggressively handle mass claim denial issues to reduce loss of income; Two examples are as follows:1) Resolved set-up issue with Superior to receive payment on over 200 denied claims. 2) Resolvedissue with clearing house sending claims to the wrong payers, resulting in payment of $75k worth ofrejected claims. Research additional services providers can perform, and incorporate procedures for those services intothe practice by training staff and providers, and creating templates for use in EHR. Implemented new process in turning over past-due balances to collection agency, and trained staff touse module to send letters and reports to providers, and then to agency. Identified over 20k in bad debt that was claimed in the yearly RHC Cost Report. Verify practice is compliant and up-to-date with Federal and State policies and regulations. Review, negotiate and approve contracts and fee schedules for Insurance Carriers. In 2014 the Practice branched out and formed a new company: FMCScience, a Clinical Research Site. I handled the bookkeeping, HR, and Office Management for the new entity, and also began negotiating contracts with the Pharmaceutical companies. I've handled bookkeeping for a wide variety of industries including construction, law office, medical, and retail.
