Sami is a Partner at Bhandari Naqvi Riaz and an Advocate of the Supreme Court of Pakistan. He has a broad commercial practice with a focus on international arbitration. Sami has extensive experience in assisting clients with cross-border legal matters, both contentious and non-contentious. Sami has represented and advised clients in arbitration matters under the LCIA, ICC, SIAC, KCAB, ICSID, and UNCITRAL rules. Besides acting as counsel, Sami sits as an arbitrator and is empanelled by leading international arbitral institutions.His work primarily arises out of the technology, media and telecommunication sector; financial sector; corporate sector; intellectual property; energy; construction and infrastructure; and international trade. As a former Rugby player, Sami's interest and expertise also includes sports disputes involving regulation of governing bodies, disciplinary disputes, anti-doping, anti-corruption, club management, and contractual matters in a sporting context. He is also accredited as a Judicial Officer under World Rugby Regulations and is appointed by Pakistan Rugby Union to hear disciplinary matters.Sami has been called to the Bar of England and Wales (Lincoln’s Inn), and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
