Michelle reported to the General Manager of Commercial Banking as part of the executive leadership team. Her responsibilities ranged from strategy development, execution of a wide range transformation programs across the national sales teams, business operations and risk management areas. As the national leader of business banking sales operations area, Michelle led on the introduction and embedding of a best practice sales management operating rhythm and the roll out of new CRM system. Michelle is proud that during her time as National Business Manager, the whole Commercial Banking team at Westpac was recognised as the "Best Business Bank" by AB+F and the "Major Business Bank of the Year in Australia" by Roy Morgan.

Michelle led a team of 15 professionals in the Performance Management and Analytics team supporting Commercial Banking. Her accountabilities including business performance management insights and advice to the Sales leadership team, banker scorecard development, weekly and monthly sales management reporting (including system responsibility) as well as the leadership of the marketing insights team. Michelle was honoured to be recognised in the inaugural "Women of Influence' awards where she was runner-up in the 'Innovation' division. This commended her leadership in designing and building a streamlined portal reporting & insights system for portfolio managers and sales and risk leaders. This was used by the extended sales management team across Australia.

On her return to Australia, Michelle worked with her old colleagues from PPB for a limited period of time exploring the possibility of business expanding into management consulting for successful companies (away from insolvency). Michelle loved being back working with her old colleagues during these months.

Michelle created her own management consulting firm and was delighted to count Lloyds TSB amoung her clients. During her year long relationship with Lloyds, Michelle provided strategic advice and insights into product and regional performance of the International Private Banking division (including Channel Islands, Western Europe, Cyprus, UAE & South Africa). This included numerous visits to the Channels Island in the UK and extensive financial and behavioural modelling of exisiting and target cusotmers.

Also included in Michelle's client list was Deutsche Bank in London. Michelle engaged in an intensive contract period to provide advice and project management for the finalisation of a transformational global project that involved relocating people and processes from the Finance teams across Western Europe, to a global central team located in the Philippines.

Michelle provided strategic advice and insights to the COO (Chief Operating Officer) and the Sales Leadership team of Barclays Commercial. This division at the time was a £1.4bn PBT division of Barclays and served business customers including Small to Medium Enterprises and larger Corporates. Michelle was involved in the strategic business planning processes and was part of the team that assisting in driving the commercial agenda on both near and long term performance.

Part of the Corporate Finance division Michelle prepared analysis and authored reports on specific Business valuations and Independent Expert Reports that were published on the ASX, Michelle also provided analysis and scenario analysis on the various capital structuring alternatives available to her clients.

Michelle started her career in corporate restructuring and insolvency and credits her success later in her career to the mentoring and experience she gained while at PPB. During the 4 and a half years at PPB, Michelle gained experience in Liquidation, Voluntary Administration and Receivership across a broad range of industries including Building & Construction, Property Development, Pubs & Clubs, Food and Wine Import/Export, Gold Mining, Technology, Retail and Hotels. This work included crisis management, operational on-site management, financial analysis, union negotiating and resolving disputes with various impacted stakeholders including banks, lawyers, creditors and employees.
