My research interests include the nutritional implications of slavery, the archaeology of slavery, the osteology of slavery, domestic historic homestead archaeology and preservation and architectural preservation of residential structures in the middle and southern states regions, all with a focus in the colonial and pre-civil war eras. Research interests outside of archaeology and anthropology include the evolution of civil rights movements, black/white relations, the evolution of American government and American foreign policy, and historic preservation, particularly of colonial and antebellum domestic structures.
