Responsible for the Advanced Technology Programs within Integer's Advanced Surgical, Orthopedics and Medical Power Solutions Product Category. This includes new platform development projects, from conceptual research through phase 1, technology risk identification and mitigation projects, transfer of technology from R&D to AS&O Design Development organizations. The Advanced technology group consists of Electrical, Software and Mechanical R&D engineers, as well as many leveraged PhD scientist throughout the enterprise. Heavily involved in new IP creation for the Advanced Technology Group (currently pending submission) and technological brainstorming. Structured platform development around Axiomatic Set Based Design Methodology, allowing for maximum independence between risks, overall increasing the likelihood of successful overall platform completion. Responsible for monitoring program resources, timeline, project priority, Maintain communication with sales, marketing, leveraging cross company manufacturing, as well as Senior and Executive leadership on status of current projects as well as propose new projects.

Responsible for management and continued improvement of the Rotational Engineering program for Integer (formerly Lake Region Medical). Program management includes driving program cadence, consisting of recruiting, hiring, bi-annual relocation of 8-10 engineers, and transitioning engineers out of the program to permanent roles. Relocation determined by program requirements, as well as overall corporate needs balanced between 11 separate business locations, and the engineer’s specific career development needs. Managing the program also includes being the manager and main point of contact for the individual rotational engineers, responsible for setting goals with local site managers, including program specific goals, and act as mentor for the REs to help them develop as engineers.Continuous improvement of the program included creating and establishing a new vision for the program with the executive sponsor, and creating all policies and procedures to continue and improve the program. Improvements to overall talent management, consisting of focused technical and business competency development while increasing overall retention of engineers after they exit the program to their permanent positions.

Designing and developing advanced surgical medical devices. Projects span from new concept generation through design, process development, and the production launch into other facilities. Design and development executed utilizing evidence based engineering, resulting from wide ranging mechanical and simulated testing, as well as lean design, set-based design, axiomatic design and design for manufacturing. Technical lead on multiple design project teams, ranging through the Integer Advanced Surgical francize, including laparoscopic, arthroscopic and orthopedic devices. Initiated and driving corporate wide knowledge sharing platform.

Was Accellent at the time of employmentLaconia, NH Apr – Dec 2012: Supported multiple product teams through continuous improvement projects and new product development in clean room assembly environment. Builder’s Award for Depuy Mitek launch and support. Managed a CI project and a NPD packaging project.Salem, VA Jan – Jun 2013: Validated and developed process for automated laser ablation. Obtained acid room experience. New process development, validation and improvement on Renal Denervation device component assembly, including micro assembly, laser welding and ultraviolet cure adhesives. Brimfield, MA Jul – December 2013: Initiated continuous improvement projects, containing systemic analysis of finishing processes, area and flow. Implemented Lean and Six Sigma methodologies including but not limited to new processes and machines to decrease product lead time. Developed and launched the lean assembly pilot program, which is a systematic system to choose, balance and design assembly cells for the BRF site. System was successfully implemented on the VSG assembly. In addision, developed laser marking and engraving fixtures to reduce set up and process time. Worked on transfer of Hip Stem production to new documentation system, CAD system and manufacturing location.Wilmington, MA Jan – Jun 2014: Working as a design engineer in the Catheter Design and Development Center. Using Lean Product Development tools and extending support to the site level through improvement projects, including Laser Marking 17-4 SS. Utilizing lean six sigma training to develop platinum tracking system for our multiple precious metals sites. Designing and developing knowledge base to build new company competencies, including laser cut hypotubes. Laser cut hypotube research applied to curved bone shaverblade development project.
