As a Type 3 Wildland Firefighter, I was part of a five-person crew responsible for wildfire suppression and containment. My tasks included digging fire lines, dry mopping, building guard, extinguishing hot spots, and setting up and operating water pumps and hose lays. I also handled radio communications, ensuring clear and effective coordination with my team in high-pressure environments. This role strengthened my communication, teamwork, resilience, and ability to perform under pressure in challenging conditions, often facing steep terrain, smoke, and extreme heat.
