Represented Fortune 500 corporations as counsel in federal and state litigation and managed strategic corporate communications. Member of trial team that won a significant motion to compel against a third party, resulting in attorneys' fees and costs for the client. Selected as a 2019 Minnesota Attorney of the Year.

Chief legal advisor to Governor Dayton, Lieutenant Governor Prettner Solon and approximately 35 office staff. Served as the Governor's designee and advisor on the Minnesota State Board of Investment (SBI), the state agency which invests and manages $80B in state assets, and Chair of the SBI Proxy Voting and Administrative Committees. Launched and led diversity and inclusion efforts across the administration, served as the Governor's liaison to diverse community groups, and spoke on the Governor's behalf at conferences and events. Supported the Governor in his role as chair of the Executive Council, Land Exchange Board and Board of Pardons. Before becoming general counsel and assistant chief of staff, served as assistant chief of staff for special projects from February 2011-August 2011.

Served as national counsel to Fortune 500 corporations. Represented corporations in products liability and tort litigation around the country.

Represented corporations in patent infringement and Federal False Claims Act litigation.

First chair trial attorney in over 150 bench and jury trials. Received a certification from the National Institute of Trial Advocacy, and trained junior associates in trial.
