Sawhorse Revolution is a groundbreaking educational nonprofit serving high-school students from Central and South Seattle. Sawhorse fosters confident, community-oriented youth through the power of carpentry and craft. I created hands-on learning opportunities for Seattle high school youth through a flexible and interactive pedagogical approach. We built structures for over 12 service organizations, Pea Patches and community groups. Sawhorse received Seattle Magazine’s “Most Influential Organization” award in 2015 for pioneering tiny home construction with high school students. My responsibilities were wide-ranging, including:-Initiated and maintained 15 city-wide partnerships-Created learning tools for 200+ young people-Managed 10+ small construction projects-Wrote grants and managed funds totaling over $475,000-Oversaw annual budgeting, bookkeeping and financial reporting-Built organizational management systems for human resources, accounting and grant writing
