We are excited to announce the opening of a new preschool and childcare center at 1600 Christian Street in the Graduate Hospital Neighborhood. The Aspen Grove School is scheduled to open for the 2017 school year and will welcome children ages 6 weeks through 5 years. What is unique about The Aspen Grove School? Our programWe are wholeheartedly optimistic about all that children are capable of. Our goal is to introduce children to learning that is substantive yet playful. Within our learning community each child will experience a sense of emotional safety, which is when they are most receptive to learning. Our instructional method is hand-on, child-led and teaches the way each child’s brain learns best. It appreciates different strengths, intelligences and learning styles. Our environment is enriched with experiences that enhance a child’s intellectual potential while celebrating this magical time of childhood. Integral to our program is outdoor play and time in nature, as well as helping children to care about each other and their community. Our facilityThe school will occupy approximately 13,000 square feet within a beautifully renovated historic space, in what was previously the First African Baptist Church. We believe that the environment is the third teacher and have carefully designed beautiful classrooms that maximize natural light, have a natural look and feel and preserve many historical aspects of the space including the large arched windows and high ceilings that open up to expose 100 year old, beautiful heavy timber trusses. We will have 2 spacious indoor gross motor areas and close proximity to green spaces for outdoor experiences. We will start pre-registrations and enrollments shortly.
