General Laborer
As a General Laborer at Emmerich Wood Products, I am responsible for the assembly and sorting of metal components used in the construction of wooden house trusses. This role involves working with a variety of materials and requires good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.My tasks include:Sorting and organizing metal plates and woodblocks used in truss assembly.Securing metal plates into wooden trusses using both large machinery and manual hammering, guaranteeing the structural integrity of the trusses.Utilizing a Bostitch pressurized stapler gun to efficiently staple wooden blocks for truss assembly.Assisting with the light assembly of wooden trusses, ensuring all components are properly aligned and secured.Rotating through various outdoor assignments to support overall production needs.Maintaining safety standards by wearing appropriate protective gear and following established protocols.Key Responsibilities:Handling and moving materials weighing up to 50+ pounds.Operating within a team to efficiently complete assembly tasks.Ensuring quality control by inspecting materials for defects and proper alignment.Adhering to company safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.Skills Developed:Enhanced hand-eye coordination through repetitive assembly tasks.Improved physical endurance and strength by frequently lifting and moving heavy materials.Gained experience in teamwork and communication within a fast-paced production environment.
