I joined full-time as CEO in 1992 and acquired the company in 1997.Checkerboard designs and manufactures invitations, printed materials, and event decor. Our goal was to infuse the latest in technology into age-old quality and craftsmanship. Checkerboard was the first with an online design system and the first direct to press invitation company. It patented online proofing technology. reinvented inviting by integrating online event management with printed invitations and event decor.We have excelled in creating an ethical, engaged, and passionate culture. The combination of culture, know-how, and technology propelled us from a new entrant to the top three stationery companies in the world with over three thousand retailers carrying our line.Checkerboard has won 11 Louie awards - the top award for design in the Greeting Card industry.
