Micah J. Wonjoon Kessel is the CEO and Founder of Empathable. He designs experiences that give you an authentic glimpse into other people's stories, so that we learn more effectively from one another, and does so by combining social science research, experiential design, and technology to solve human centered culture challenges.He has consulted on empathic experiences for the Finnish Government, Google, Disney, the Diabetes Fund, and has created the world's top escape rooms, according to TripAdvisor.His emotion-centered approach to experiential design was inspired by a childhood career performing at the Metropolitan Opera.His current project, Empathable, was part of a team that was awarded by the the Harvard Culture Lab Innovation Fund, and creates empathy by allowing participants to walk in the shoes of leaders in their fields, so that knowledge can be passed on more impactfully. This project is informed by his work as former Design Lead at the Interdisciplinary Affective Science Lab, and collaborative research with top labs studying bias, emotions, and empathy.Micah speaks English, German, Italian, Dutch, Flemish, and French. He enjoys lecturing on the topic of experiential design, empathy, belonging, and synthesizing diverse knowledge areas in how they apply to human flourishing.
