Commissioner and past President (2020-22) of Nether Providence's elected governing body. Nether Providence is a first class township of 13,706 residents in Delaware County. As Third Ward Commissioner, Micah represented the neighborhoods of South Media, Moylan, South Summit, and Heatherwold. He also served as the Board's Vice President from 2018-2020.

Prior to founding Vencer Insurance & Risk, Micah was a senior manager at Altus Partners and led that firm's middle market commercial team. It was at Altus that Micah gained broad, valuable experience and learned how to build a successful business. While there, Micah and his team revolutionized firm efficiency and service delivery through a series of initiatives. Those actions included: designing and implementing a standard 365-day service plan integrated with firm management software; creating comprehensive RFP response, proposal, summary, and program analysis templates; and developing, training and managing the 20-year-old firm’s first sales operations.

As a Producer, Micah Knapp was responsible for new business development. He consulted with prospective clients to understand their businesses and identify the risks that they face – both the obvious and, more important, the unexpected. At Graham, Micah solely worked with large companies and non-profits with average annual property and casualty insurance premiums in excess of $2 million. He advocated for those clients in all their dealings with insurers and negotiated tailor-fit, broad coverage in unassailable insurance contracts. Micah led a service team of five professionals assigned to each client.

Member of Cozen O'Connor's Global Insurance Group – the largest and leading insurance coverage practice group in the United States. While at Cozen, Micah represented insurance companies in legally complex, multi-million dollar insurance coverage lawsuits against their policyholders. He litigated coverage cases arising from catastrophic damage to commercial properties, general liability losses, and sexual abuse and bodily injury claims against hospitals and professionals. Micah also served as his clients’ outside coverage counsel, advising those insurance company clients when faced with difficult claim determinations requiring professional, legal opinions on coverage.

Micah's principal tasks involved researching legal issues before the court and drafting judicial opinions in civil rights, contract, property, employment, criminal, habeas corpus, social security, insurance, ERISA, and tort cases. More generally, Micah assisted Judge Kosik in all matters before the court including trials, conferences, and hearings. Representative cases include: Scanlin v. Utica First Ins. Co., 426 F.Supp.2d 243 (M.D. Pa. 2006); Twp. of Tunkhannock v. Blue Ridge Commc’n, Inc., No. 05 Cv. 1013, 2006 WL 3613779 (M.D. Pa. Dec. 11, 2006); and, Schurich v. Principal Financial Group, No. 04 Cv. 2074, 2005 WL 1229725 (M.D. Pa. May 12, 2005).

As an Associate in Post & Schell's Casualty Department, Micah defended his clients against products liability, premises liability, motor vehicle personal injury, and construction injury suits.
