The pipeline handles 50,000 + leads per-month. Architected and built a number of integrations with other internal and external systems. Responsible for major technical backend integration decisions. Researchers also analyze large-scale Shopify-related store, product, or app data.Scaled scraping breadth, frequency, and data collection on Shopify stores and products. Worked with CEO to improve algorithm for store revenue estimation. Refactored subscription and billing flow to be more flexible, testable, and robust, fixing a number of deeply flawed bugs in the process. Implemented standard best practices into a messy codebase, stabilized system and processes, and trained junior engineers to follow suit. Fixed numerous bugs and refactored and improved major store and product scan features helping result in a 30% decreased subscriber churn rate from Q3 2021 (first 3 months of contract) as compared to Q2 2021. Carefully indexed and fine-tuned PostgreSQL database to handle 50 million + Shopify products with search, filtering, ordering, and more. Devised keystone solutions to a better algorithm for finding existing Shopify stores across the internet resulting in 20x more Shopify stores in our database.

Built a Django app called Sabal enabling company to migrate critical processes away from legacy microservices + MongoDB and into a modern, centralized application robustly configured and tested, running the latest Django, Celery, and DRF. Added functionality into Sabal to sync data from their legacy MongoDB cluster into a PostgreSQL database. Rewrote and restructured several of company’s key codified business operations into Sabal. Fixed alerting system (no crashes, did not introduce load), and cleaned-up older MongoDB records. Introduced a new Slack app/bot, Matchmaker, which was considerably more robust, functional, and powerful than the previous, barely functional Slack app/bot. Matchmaker closed about $100k in revenue in deals and speed improvement was responsible for at least 25% increase in company yield. Leveraged Sabal’s robust connections to legacy databases, systems, and third-party systems I built to both migrate, consolidate, and enhance scattered business processes and logic, and add testability and observability to the entire stack. Added important observability and error monitoring integrations and code into Sabal leading to real-time notifications of problems allowing for swift turnaround times for fixes. Built a new CRM in a week that tied together old CRM, old database, and third-party CRM a simple way.
