Led all aspects of software engineering in support of the team under the Global Operations, Learning & Development organization in Amazon. Key accomplishments- Onboarded new product previously owned by the Alexa organization in support of Amazon's Welcome Door program, staffed the entire team and transitioned engineers to support this- Led team through integration into broader technical organization, ensuring alignment between leadership and the team on priorities- Achieved a cross-organization re-alignment of resources between two different VP organizations, working directly with critical stakeholders in ensuring as smooth of transition as possible- Achieved long-term goal of becoming an Amazon Bar Raiser; secured 150th official interview at the company as part of this effort

Lead all aspects of software engineering within Global Operations Learning & Development (GOLD) across multiple product lines. My team supported employee customers from L1-L3 all the way to senior and executive leadership teams, spanning about 1M employees in total. Key accomplishments:- Delivered critical launches for Amazon's Career Choice program (https://www.careerchoice.amazon), ultimately enabling the program to reach the milestone of having served over 100,000 participants!- Grew team from 4 engineers to 30+ (spanning multiple teams), both through strategic hiring as well as re-alignment of organizational resources- Led multiple "S-Team" strategic initiatives and deliverables across 2022 and 2023 launches- Launched 2 brand new "greenfield" products internally in support learning and development of L4-L10 leaders in WWOps- Evangelized an engineering/product-first mindset throughout the GOLD organization, fostering relationships between business teams and engineering directly- Key contributor in establishing organization's 3-year-plans for each of the pillars our team builds products in support of and aligning with business teams against their priorities

Key accomplishments:- Grew team by over 50% by hiring both principal and junior level engineers; maintained 85% retention throughout multiple shifts in executive management and product direction; contributed to efforts to develop standardized hiring practices for all engineers- Led engineering efforts to ensure GDPR and CCPA compliance was met and maintained through tight coordination between product, legal, and engineering teams- Introduced new service layer that supports Demandbase’ on-site company identification as well as custom DMP; servicing approximately 275,000 queries per second; all while increasing the reliability of the customer-facing APIs from 98% to 99.995%- Instrumented all core data products (IP, Cookie, Domain) with quality measurement tools to measure direct customer impact on the platform- Leveraged over 30 different 3rd party data partners; directly managing and negotiating the relationship for approximately 40% of partners in conjunction with Finance and executive management- Built and managed the internal company data warehouse product that spanned both Amazon (multi account) and Google clouds with over 6PB of data under management and over 200 nightly pipelines reading and writing data to/from the warehouse in a multi-cloud environment; maintaining at least 95% reliability- Oversaw delivery of customer-facing data warehouse product (Data Stream) that drove platform data at large scale directly into customer’s BigQuery, Redshift, S3, and Azure Blob storage destinations- Spearheaded efforts to reduce Amazon cloud spend run rate by 52% while maintaining all data pipeline and RESTful service availabilities- Converting key data pipelines servicing the platform from nightly batch into streaming ingest pipelines- Contributing member to the internal security and infrastructure task force

- Lead effort to move legacy SQL-based low-scale build pipelines for IP address dataset to extremely-high-scale, machine-learning based Scala / Spark pipeline that now processes over 100TB of data- Introduced cookie-based identification to Demandbase’ core company identification product leading to significant increase in reachability of customer’s target accounts (impact varied by customer)- Moved from heuristics-based to machine learning-based cookie build that runs a Random Forest model against 4.4 billion records, 350TB of data, and publishes data out to production nightly- Lead and introduced a new dataset of domains and company firmographics that powers the entirety of the Demandbase platform leveraging 3rd party data sources

- Lead the development of new firmographics data source to aggregate legacy data sources into a new unified source for internal management and to simplify the customer experience; utilized Spark and k-means clustering- Operationalized a Neo4J production cluster and management APIs developed in Scala Play framework- Lead and participated in development of an internal data management platform using Bootstrap JS and Scala Play Framework

WhoToo was acquired by Demandbase in September, 2015. I worked as part of the team building out the IP segments file used on the various DMPs to more accurately target advertising to working professionals through B2B targeting.

Lead the core services team towards delivering high-performance, fully featured APIs for servicing both the e-commerce and data requirements of both Intelius and US Search.Core responsibilities:- Work with the team members to ensure that all tasks were being managed effectively and that services were being delivered in a timely fashion for continuous integration in the development environment- Worked with the team to deliver on all requirements for the service-oriented-architecture of both Intelius and US Search- Designing infrastructure to port legacy data delivery mechanisms into high-performance Java application Avro-RPC stack- Contributed towards efforts to unify Intelius and Inome service architectures to ensure consistency between service environments- Worked closely with operations team to ease deployment pains that had traditionally been a problem with the Java service infrastructure

Worked as a core member of the inome technologies engineering team. Was also the lead developer for the inome Entity Data Model project; a project which transformed our multi-billion entity data set into a connected, directed graph for delivery to our mobile platform and marketing applications.Core responsibilities included:- Designing, architecting, and maintaining the schema, pipeline, and APIs for delivering the connected graph to a variety of end customers- Continuously improving data quality via the extensive map-reduce pipeline used to build out the connected graph to customers- Defining and deploying the AWS infrastructure to support real-time querying by various applications. Provide substantial monitoring capabilities in an entirely new environment for our business.- Managing and maintaining the Cloudera Distribution for Hadoop (CDH) distribution in AWS that powers an HBase (and consequently ZooKeeper and HDFS) cluster used for delivering data to our customers. - Working with various customers of the EDM project to ensure timely and proper integration of the API into the customers' environment- Defining requirement for and building out the inome core service architecture built on top of Apache Avro RPC- Primary contributor to the initial product design of the inome Insights project (http://insights.inome.com)

As a member of the Consumer Framework team, I performed many tasks to assist in the delivery of the leading consumer information services data to millions of customers.Core projects included:- Abstracting out the credit card infrastructure to handle multiple payment processing backends for not only transacting but also refunds, chargeback systems, customer service billings, etc.- Restructuring the partner portal to provide insights into referrals in a more timely manner. - Introduced additional monitoring and logging capabilities in the core framework to allow for the operations team to have additional insights into the behavior of customers and the site as a whole

Work with the engineering team to develop the leading enterprise research tools on the web. Primary job functions / accomplishments include:- Exposed the core DatStat Illume Survey object through extensions to the REST API.- Identify and improve performance in the REST API to minimize the footprint of HTTP requests coming into and out of the system - utilizing HTTP cache where possible- Develop a .NET Software Development Kit and corresponding documentation allowing for developers to more easily make requests agains the REST API- Develop and deliver high-quality technical training for customers utilizing the REST API and the Software Development Kit (SDK)- Created secure transaction management server-side infrastructure to ensure data integrity for sales team- Centralized and more tightly integrated three separate web applications into one cohesive unit to simplify the customer experience- Assist the QA team on an ongoing basis by extending the customized build script to suit their needs for file deployment.
