Captured and tagged wild juvenile salmon and Steelhead Trout with Passive Integrated Transponders using rotary screw traps. Uploaded transponder data to PITAGIS database for the purpose of tracking anadromous fish throughout life-cycle. Conducted spawning ground surveys of Chinook Salmon populations in the Salmon River drainage using GIS equipment and software. Collected biological samples including fin-rays, otoliths, scales and tissue from wild and hatchery origin Chinook Salmon and Steelhead. Constructed, installed and repaired adult picket weirs for the purpose of capturing and collecting data on adult Steelhead and Chinook Salmon. Installed software and software updates, created templates and updated access files on field computers.

Oversaw successful tagging and marking operations on juvenile salmonids at several hatchery locations throughout Idaho. Managed, trained and supervised seasonal biology technicians on safe and effective operation of Northwest Marine Technology automated marking trailers.Trouble shot highly complex electromechanical and software/hardware issues in automated marking trailers. Collaborated with state and federal biologists to successfully and safely carry out time sensitive marking program objectives.Achieved over 95% Coded Wire Tag retention rate and less than 1% mortality on tagged salmonids for the marking season. Trained staff on proper use and tagging technique using Single Use and Multiple Use Passive Integrated Transponder injectors. Submitted MSDS / HAZMAT and daily marking summary sheets for hatchery management and trailer supervisors.
