The corporate office manages financials for our subsidiary manufacturing branch Patrick Lumber Manufacturing, along with a direct-to-consumer branch Wood Source.Within my position as a staff accountant, my goal is to assist our finance team with any ad-hoc projects as they arise and to build tools/workflows that improve efficiency in recurring duties. I am proud to have spearheaded our conversion to fully paperless payables, along with the vendor outreach which has resulted in converting most outgoing payments to ACH. Key responsibilities in this role include the following:- Administering payroll through ADP Workforce Now and compiling supporting documentation for recordkeeping. Responding to employee change requests and researching any payroll issues for swift resolution.- Overseeing internal invoicing between manufacturing and corporate divisions, allocating sales to appropriate machine centers. Tracking order progress with mill manager to confirm billing is completed by period close date.- Executing assigned month end closing procedures and account reconciliation spreadsheets. Communicating progress with finance team on a daily basis to ensure statements can be completed by monthly deadlines.- Coordinating with bank and CPA auditors, compiling requested supporting documentation to ensure accuracy in financial reporting.- Recording daily bank transactions across multiple companies, verifying accuracy against corresponding backups. Reconciling all bank statements at month-end.- Prepare and file annual 1099 forms to various vendors. Show less
