Michael Cox, Dabr Email and Phone Number
My desire to “learn how things work” blossomed while growing up near São Paulo, Brazil, and regularly attending a NASA physicist’s seminars. Hearing him created in me a desire to one day "know what he knows." Consequently, I decided to pursue physics in college, which challenged me to study hard and be disciplined. I quickly realized that physics comprises a plethora of career paths. Three values directed me to medical physics: - a desire for interdisciplinary approaches to problem solving- an interest in medicine and biology - an enjoyment of helping people While completing the University of Pennsylvania’s CAMPEP accredited Medical Physics program, I was privileged to interact with professionals from various backgrounds and disciplines, all cooperating towards the common goal of curing patients of cancer. These interactions allowed me to continue developing intellectually while gaining a thorough understanding of the complex issues encountered in medical physics and radiation safety.I am certified by the American Board of Radiology in Diagnostic Medical Physics, am fully qualified to perform diagnostic imaging surveys on all imaging modalities (including being MQSA qualified), and served over two years as a medical Radiation Safety Officer.I enjoy making new professional acquaintances.
