Originating from a small town in the north eastern part of Switzerland, I came to Zurich to pursue my interests in the natural sciences and especially in electronics and information technologies. My main interests currently lie in Computer Vision, as well as Robotics and Machine Learning/Deep Learning applied to Robots as edge devices. However, I'm also very much interested in Deep Learning Theory as well as applications of Deep Learning to other sectors such as Medical Imaging.I had the chance to pursue Robotics in depth in the third year of my bachelor's studies as a part of the focus project DroGone. There I worked as the Head Of Software Development together with 2 other electrical engineers and 7 mechanical engineers from ETH Zurich. We designed, built, and programmed a novel drone system capable of autonomously tracking, following, and catching another illicit drone system.I was pursuing my extracurricular interests as the IT board member of the AMIV - the biggest student association at ETH Zurich - as well as preparing for my master's studies at ETH during the first half of my gap year after my bachelor's degree. During the second half of my gap year, I was working at Microsoft's Mixed Reality & AI Lab in Zurich. There I had the chance to once again pursue my interest in Robotics as well as Perception and Mapping, working closely with a Boston Dynamic Spot unit as well as analyzing and evaluating internal frameworks in an amazing, small team of researchers in the heart of Zurich.As part of my Master's Degree, I was conducting an exchange semester at MIT in Boston for the Spring Term of 2022, where I was also working part-time in the research group of Stefanie Mueller in the HCIE Lab. After the exchange, I returned to ETH where I completed the latter half of my remaining Master's Degree, writing my Master's Thesis at the Computational Robotics Lab (CRL) at ETH Zurich and the new ETH SpinOff FlinkAI.I am currently pursuing my Doctoral Studies in a joint program between ETH Zurich and Disney Research, working on problems at the junction of Computer Vision, Deep Learning and Robotics.
