Originally a skilled hands-on-developer, I have now settled into the more hands-off role of Head of Development. Within this role, I've had many different responsibilities including devops, recruitment, solutions architecture, development or even interim CEO.Focussing on ensuring the timely delivery of projects through Agile with our multi-skilled development team of up to 20 developers in an ISO270001 certified company. High level technical C* meetings with clients regarding roadmap discussions, technical hurdles and objectives as part of the delivery. Working alongside smaller development teams to architect solutions and ensuring development workflows are of the standard required to enable rapid development, with full automated testing and continuous integration/deployment. Recruiting new members of the team, from initial CV validation, 1st round calls through to onboarding meetings when joining the company. Additionally ensuring continuing personal development of all members to unlock their potential, while working in a supporting environment to enable growth where wanted. Some of my role does additionally lean on my strong devops background, making use of various tools throughout the full lifecycle depending on the project. Including but not limited to Docker, Vagrant, Chef, Ansible, Puppet and Infrastructure as Code with Terraform on AWS.I was key in the successful certification of ISO 270001 of BuildEmpire, working alongside our DPO to ensure we continue adhere to the standards, as well as maintaining certification every year through external auditing.
