They have no tires, steering wheel or a GPS so getting “the engine” to work for them becomes a much bigger process and potentially more expensive than the ERP purchase itself.As a trusted ERP expert with 20+ years of consulting with organizations of $5M to $100M+ ERP projects, I have determined that there are 10-steps that all organiztions should to follow in order to have a successful ERP rollout.➊ Start investigating ERP solutions 12 months from renewal. Starting early provides more leverage to negotiate with vendors.➋ Develop a roadmap aligned to your Ecosystem and the expectations of the new ERP feature/function.➌ Identify only the vendors that meet your roadmap criteria.➍ Write a well defined RFP and leverage a proven tracker focused on Matrix, taking the emotion out of the large investment.➎ Vendor selection day to see demos of qualified providers to ensure that their functionality matches the RFP.-➏ NEGOTIATE. Know vendor vulnerabilities. Without understanding their sale cycle companies miss major savings opportunities; often costing hundreds of thousands of dollars more than necessary.➐ Identify 3rd party providers covered under the maintenance plan and determine all additional costs in moving to the new ERP system. Finalize vendor selection, develop an implementation schedule and budget prior to signing an ERP contract to keep everything on track and on plan.➑ Sign contracts and finalize budget.➒ Build a project plan and align staff and resources.➓Implement and supportEnterprise Resource Planning (ERP) technology consulting and advisory for for Workday HCM and Financials, Infor, Salesforce, Oracle Cloud, supply chain, projects, HR, payroll, benefits management and third party integrations.
