Credimarks Savings and Loan is financial institution in formation in Ghana devoted to enhancing the productivity and prosperity of smallholder farmers with transparent financial products. We will be providing farmers the financial capacity to purchase inputs such as fertilizer, pest control products and irrigation systems which will provide higher farm incomes and contribute directly to reductions in poverty. We are beginning with cocoa, Ghana’s largest crop and the source of 20% of the World’s cocoa. There are 800,000 cocoa farmers and over 90% produce on farms of 2 to 3 hectares. They produce at about 30% of their potential because their incomes are too low to advance the cash needed to purchase fertilizer and pesticides when needed. Our mission is to meet this need.
