  Mr. Akavan has over 30 years of experience designing mechanical systems for a variety of facilities in various sectors, including the local and federal government, manufacturing and industrial markets. Mr. Akavan's experience includes project management, energy conservation, load calculations, HVAC, plumbing and fire protection design, installation and operating cost reduction analysis, energy and feasibility studies, central cooling and heating plant optimization, thermal storage systems and construction observation. Mr. Akavan has been a LEED Accredited Professional for over 10 years, and used to be on the Board of Directors for the California Center for Sustainable Energy (CCSE), Downtown San Diego Partnership, and a part of the Palomar College President's Associates. Additionally, he is a member of the following organizations: American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), United States Green Building Council (USGBC), Society of American Military Engineers (SAME), American Society of Plumbing Engineers (ASPE), California Society for Healthcare Engineers (CSHE), and the Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA).
