- Greatly improved CI/CD performance and quality by cleaning up a messy and unmaintained system - created new local docker images that were more specific to the jobs - most jobs used the same large image so I created custom images for each job to reduce time and resources - utilized faster and more robust unused servers by moving GitLab jobs to these servers - we had three new unused servers that were not being utilized. - rewrote redundant and poorly written YAML files to improve GitLab job times - GitLab had no rules or organization before I started there. many of the ci yamls wasted resources and time that clogged up the sysem and slowed progress. I fixed that. - took ownership of administrative tasks and automated maintenance in Gitlab- Developed and implemented python scripts to automate maintenance and reduce setup times - wrote multiple scripts to reduce tabling time and improve the accuracy of new system installs - expanded on existing scripts to support the automated install process of a production OS - I took ownership of an internal OS install script that used CENTOS kickstart script and other processes that were used on new system installs - I cleaned, updated, and debugged the script so it could be more user friendly and run by untrained staff
