This was a in-house legal role working for Orbis Investments and Allan Gray Australia, where I advised both the institutional and retail sides of the business in the areas of funds management and distribution, risk and compliance. Secondment at Ashurst LLP. I was part of the in-house team that acts in an advisory capacity to work with the business on strategic risk assessment. This role focuses on commercial sensitivities, sanctions compliance, and applicable legislative/regulatory codes on a multi-jurisdictional level. This is a truly global role! I was also involved in evaluating and educating on the changing regulatory and legal landscape in respect of the FinTech/RegTech environment.
