I am recent graduate with a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University. I enjoy understanding how things work and applying that knowledge in projects and tasks. I am passionate about using creative design in problem solving, which is why I want to pursue mechanical engineering. I have worked on projects that showcase these abilities such as my senior design project that required my team to develop an electric personal foundry that allowed the user to safely gain experience melting and casting metals in a lab or home setting. Throughout the project, I gained valuable experience going through the design process with a team to create an original, working prototype that started with a list of requirements. This project challenged my creativity, my problem solving skills, and my teamwork and communications skills, but I prevailed with the confidence I need to apply these skills to my future projects.In addition to learning about the design process, these projects also helped teach me to work with a team. I have also developed and built on leadership and communication skills though my past job as a Senior Staffer at Camp Allen where I organized, lead, and maintained regular programs for youth.I am eager to gain additional work experience as I pursue my goals and educational career.
