With over 14 years of work experience in the nonprofit sector, I am passionate about empowering homeless and formerly homeless communities through advocacy, outreach, and crisis response. As a member of the Mobile Crisis Response Team at HomeFirst, I provide compassionate and timely support to individuals experiencing homelessness, mental health issues, or substance abuse, and connect them with appropriate resources and services. As a Community Outreach Coordinator at the Lived Experience Advisory Board (LEAB), I leverage my own lived experience of homelessness to consult with the city and county officials on policies and programs that affect homeless populations. I also facilitate and participate in various community groups, events, and initiatives that promote awareness, education, and empowerment of homeless issues. I am currently pursuing a certificate in Nonprofit Management from the Nonprofit Alliance, where I am learning new skills and best practices to enhance my effectiveness and impact as a nonprofit leader. I have also completed a certification in Inclusive Leadership from LinkedIn, where I gained valuable insights and strategies to foster a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion in my work.
