I am a passionate environmental biogeochemist with experience investigating and modeling how microbial communities influence environmental problems, most notably water quality (i.e., contaminant fate and transport) and climate change (i.e., greenhouse gas emissions). A common thread through my research is an attempt to understand how microbial processes and interactions can be harnessed to alleviate problems of relevance to society and human health.
