The Partyman Group was diverse with nine indoor play centres, seven day care nurseries, two farm parks, a teddy bear importing business that sold bears online and wholesale as well as a business training business.As either Head of Finance, which was a full time position or Group Finance Director, which was part time, I ran the entire finance process.

Bolt and Heeks was a main Contractor with a circa £25m turnover. Our projects ranged from £100,000 to £4m nearly exclusively for non-house building commercial projects including schools, cementers, churches, retail, community and general refurbishment.Throughout my time I was in full control of the finance department.

By changing both the eight figure bank facilities, that I monitor and manage, and computer programme, combined with the new systems mentioned above the division has the necessary accounting structure in place to grow from an operation selling a couple dozen properties per year on two sites to one that is selling over many times that over several sites and has the accounting capacity to sell several hundred properties per year over dozens of sites. Due to the importance of the new division I report mainly to the finance director, explain all aspects from cash flows to sales figure to aid the senior management in their understanding of this fast changing division and aiding their reports to group. I attend weekly sales meetings with the managing director, sales director and finance director as well as monthly meetings with the operations director, sales director and senior commercial manager.In addition to this I prepare management accounts for three ledgers as well as combined management accounts, cash-flow forecasts, maintain three ledgers, prepare year end accounts, prepare audit packs as well as assisting with the audit, review vat returns, review bank reconciliations and adapt the accounting systems as necessary.Although not part of my job, I have provided tax advice that saved £250,000 for the year ending 30th June 2011, will probably over £250,000 for this and probaly over £125,000 next year in corporation tax. On 1st July 2009, Lambert Chapman LLP broke into two organisations, Lambert Chapman LLP and Lucentum Limited. This position with Lucentum Limited was exactly the same as the position I held with Lambert Chapman LLP, in the same office as I had previously been working at and with the same clients I had previously been working with.
