Direct Support Technician
CurrentResponsible for:• Providing assistance, support and training to adults with intellectual disability and other physical and/or sensory impairments. • Ensuring the health, safety and well-being of the clients by assisting them in areas of personal care, communication, mobility, and personal living skills. • Connecting and integrating clients within the community by accessing a variety of community resources and opportunities for socialization and recreation. • Providing transport in city vehicles, such as a Mega Van, 15 Passenger van, and Mini Van to include assisting clients to get in and out of the vehicle and operating a hydraulic lift. • Assisting with lifting and re-positioning clients as needed. • Assisting with personal hygiene of the clients, cooking and serving meals as well as assisting the clients as they eat and drink. • Traveling with the clients and other staff in the event of the need to evacuate the facility or local area.• Working beyond the scheduled shift on a PRN basis. • Completing Medicaid Direct Support training, CPR/First Aid, TOVA training, and achieving certification in Medication Assistance and Food Handlers training.
