Michael established and led the firm’s Consumer Financial Services practice in North America. He and his expert group applied extensive hands-on, multi-national and cross-industry experience to refine, reshape, and reengineer clients’ businesses. Michael's responsibilities included the Financial Services Innovation & Business Incubation capabilities as well as the Human Capital Optimization solution set.Client work featured redesigning the management oversight and leadership offices for two banking divisions of a leading global consumer payments company. The solutions delivered led directly to increased cross-organizational cooperation, teaming, and engagement and received endorsement by the banks’ boards of directors and multiple regulatory agencies including the FDIC and CFPB.He and his team restructured an industry leading risk and information management department for a top five financial services company aligning business processes and operational needs with subject matter expertise and risk management solutions. Innovating around organization and operating models created an agile department enabling the client to achieve business objectives while coping with regulatory requirements.Michael shaped the consulting firm’s point of view on consumer payments innovation including mobile payments and was frequently looked to for perspective on the sector.

I was responsible for strategy in MasterCard's Innovative Platforms group. This role was tasked with driving new payment product concepts from theory to the marketplace, opening up fresh revenue sources in e-commerce, m-commerce, person-to-person remittances, and emerging markets. I focused on seeking and developing new approaches, channels, partners, and solutions to address MasterCard's mid and long term business demands. Previously I was managing director for MasterCard Advisors – North America, the professional services consulting organization within MasterCard Worldwide. There I was responsible for our Client management, business development, services profitability, as well as solutions design at the Client level. I was a member of MasterCard's corporate and division Senior Management Teams with responsibility for strategic guidance and oversight.

At BMG Music Service I headed customer acquisitions for the largest music service in the U.S. We specialized in all forms of direct marketing, particularly direct mail and telemarketing. We also broke ground in the then emerging internet-based channels. I served on the company’s Executive Committee which was tasked with establishing and managing the organization's strategic direction.
