I am always looking for ways to grow myself as an educator to be more effective for my students. I am working on a masters degree in curriculum design and instruction at Weber State university and plan to use the knowledge I gain to help other teachers improve their effectiveness in education as well as my own. There is no end point in regards to education because there is no 'one size fits all' to learning. I heard someone say once that 'a day without laughter is a day wasted'. I try to live every day with light-heartedness and a sense of humor. I am most successful and content with life when I'm smiling and having fun. People have often told me that I am able to make any situation/job/task into an enjoyable experience and I take great pride in that!Inspiring and educating youth is one of my passions in life. I enjoy interacting with and learning from students as well as working toward the common goal of gaining knowledge with them. I believe in learning through thinking deeply about concepts, participating in activities that apply thinking, and then reflecting on the process. This approach shapes how I like to learn and how I educate others. I have learned that success and the sense of accomplishment don't just materialize from the ether, they require sacrifice, determination, grit, and a genuine desire to progress toward self-actualization. Chances need to be taken, mistakes need to be made, and critique needs to be welcomed. My belief is that personal growth leads to more happiness than tangible possessions.
