Founded Imaginatics, focusing on Controls, Automation and Test, principally with LabVIEW over 20 years ago. We have helped multiple clients to jump-start and develop their own controls and software efforts from scratch. Experience in control systems has been applied to diverse industries including: Green Energy (fuel cell and alternative battery development), Astronomy (telescope / observatory / instrument control systems), Military/Aerospace (portable and multi-bay ATE systems and test executives), Biomedical (product development, image processing) and Hospital Management (enterprise scale client-server / database bed management systems). Won sole-source contract (as Imaginatics) to develop the software control system in LabVIEW for this 4.1 meter state-of-the-art optical telescope on Cerro Pachón in the Chilean Andes. Control system consisted of over a dozen linux and Windows PCs programmed in LabVIEW and Tcl/Tk and networked with TCP/IP. Work included review, integration and rework on subsystem vendors control code. Converted last 1.5 years of contract to W2 position, moved and lived in La Serena, Chile while working on system integration and test. Awarded follow on contracts to develop ArcVIEW ("Array Controller in LabVIEW") framework for control of astronomy cameras and other instruments attached to the telescope. SOAR can hot mount 6+ instruments and switch rapidly between them. Also performed work on Gemini Mirror Coating plant control system rework.
