16 years of experience in the distribution side of the electric utility business working on engineering and line supervision, reliability, protection,and feeder analysis. 14 years project management experience leading/working with teams of technical, change management and IT professionals.Have a lot of experience working on projects that automate key voltage and reliability functions on the D-grid. Currently leading a team focused on vetting new automation and devices prior to implementation: includes new protective devices, new power quality and volt/var technologies. We also coordinate closely with our ADMS and IT partners to ensure that we can deliver benefits to our customers.Previously led a team focused on developing DSDR (Distribution System Demand Response) Carolinas project. We exceeded demand reduction goals and delivered under budget! This project involved sophisticated, real time volt/var automation that leveraged a DMS (Distribution Mangement System) to coordinate with sensor data, capacitors and regulators. We delivered 322 MWs against our goal of 310 MWs of demand reduction to the enterprise. Duke deferred 2 combustion turbines as a result and also manages operating reserves differently.
