Due to my extensive experience of working in an operational/field capacity I was asked to join a Visible Safety Leadership project looking at developing a positive safety culture across the business. The project team was tasked with developing a one day interactive workshop, a 90 day supporting ‘embedding’ programme and delivery. Working on the project has refreshed and further developed my previous knowledge of Health and Safety and given me an extremely solid understanding of how to take an organisation from a reactive safety position to a proactive, mature culture, whereby truly understanding why incidents occur and holding effective safety discussions rather than simply hazard spotting becomes the norm.
