A natural leader, designer and entrepreneur, Michael leads the design team as director and founder of Open Architecture Studio. Michael is also a board member with the Moreton Maritime Alliance, a not for profit industry association for boating and ocean-based industries in Moreton Bay.With more than 15 years of architectural experience in several leading Brisbane practices including Donovan Hill and Cox Architecture (Cox Rayner), Michael prides himself in consistently delivering strong designs that are beautiful, engaging, inspiring, respectful of the local context, community centric, and environmentally friendly.As a project architect Michael has led several award-winning projects, including the National Maritime Museum in China and the Sir Samuel Griffith Centre at Griffith University. More recent communinty-centred projects include the Master Plan for James Cook University, the Eatons Hill Village Hotel and Shopping Centre, and the Logan Central Community and Civic Centre Master Plan.Comfortable with managing large project teams, and with a thorough understanding of all stages of the architectural and construction process, Michael considers good relationships between clients, consultants, and builders to be a key element of any project's success.
