The Hudson-Webber Foundation is a $200M private foundation that seeks to support prosperity for Detroiters through five core program areas: community & economic development, built environment, safe & just communities, arts & culture, and policy & research. In this role, I manage the foundation's efforts to deploy nearly $9M in grant funding annually and external communications and partnerships.

The Kresge Foundation is a $4 billion private, national foundation that seeks to expand opportunities in America's cities through support of nonprofit organizations in six fields: health, the environment, arts and culture, education, human services and the city of Detroit. -Primarily support the goals of the Human Services program, in addition to serving on internal working groups focused on Boys and Men of Color, Housing, New Orleans and Memberships & Infrastructure Committees, through planning, grant sourcing and review, research, program management, and monitoring activities for an active portfolio of 50+ operating and project grants totaling over $50M+ and program lead for $25M+ in impact investments;-Support the sourcing and development of social investment deals;-Participated in efforts to establish and refine a strategic learning and evaluation system for the Human Services Program;-Regular representation of the Foundation at the White House, conferences, panels, and events, including engagement with local and national media outlets.

-Managed business plan development and scaling (Social Impact Exchange Business Plan Finalist resulting in replication in more than 20 cities in 4 years);-Cultivated sustainable funding strategies and cost-benefit analysis (including early Pay for Success leadership);-Developed and manage relationships, investment and communications with the various stakeholder groups with deep penetration into the philanthropic community (leveraged more than $100 million);-Coordinated stakeholder engagement events (conferences, convenings, webinars, site visits, etc.);-Provided support and guidance to senior staff in supporting program development and communications.

-Managed and coordinates relationships and investment of over 75 foundations, 11 federal agencies (including the White House, HUD and DOE), national and local partners, and an extensive portfolio of consultants and vendors;-Managed and implements a national communications and social media strategy;-Provided technical assistance to 15 cities 2 tribes with direct project management responsibilities for Baltimore, Denver, Oakland and San Antonio as well as new site development;-Wrote and edited applications for federal and philanthropic grants, national reports and policy papers.

Served as an executive on loan to successfully execute:-compliant deployment of $18M of Community Development Block Grant (HUD CDBG) funds;-compliant reprogramming of $12M+ of Neighborhood Stabilization Program II (NSPII) funds;-draft and steward several actions approved by City Council;

Program Assistantships are time limited positions providing opportunities to develop skills, deepen formal knowledge, expand networks, and challenge thinking about disadvantaged children and distressed neighborhoods while learning about innovative programs, policies, and strategies.-Supported the management of $10 million annually of diverse programmatic investments;-Developed and managed strategic relationships with approximately 20 new grantees per year, while maintaining and enhancing relationships with existing grantees;-Reviewed grant proposals, performed site visits and negotiated the scope of work, performance measures, budget and timeline for each grant;-Represented AECF on the LEED-ND certification team for East Baltimore Development Inc.;-Represented AECF on panels, at conferences and meetings across the country;-Managed Community Outreach and Opportunities for Learning (COOL) Committee.
