Established in 1994, Baker Smith Management was a privately-owned events and sports management and marketing company. In conjunction, Michael Baker Management was established to provide specialised management services to high profile athletes and media personalities within Australia.As a founder & General Manager of Baker Smith Management Pty Ltd and Michael Baker Management , I was responsible for the day to day operational and financial activities for both companies. In addition, my role expanded to offering personalised, exclusive management to high profile clients by providing representation and a variety of services such as sourcing, negotiating and securing contract agreements, event management, as well as identify, facilitate sponsorship agreements, assist with building relationships and business contracts within the sporting arena, implement marketing strategies and budgets and manage community relations through my established reputation and elite corporate network in the Sporting industry, I ensured the successful contract negotiations for my clients and partnered with media channels such as Channel 9, Triple M Radio, Channel 7 and Channel 9 Footy Show.Furthermore, as a successful AFL accredited player agent I managed high profile AFL players such as Gary Ablett Snr, Gary Ablett Jnr, Nathan Ablett, Warwick Capper and Shane Tuck. During this time, I assessed athletes positioning, implemented strategic career marketing plans, assisted in building a recognised name and brand for my clients, whilst maximising revenue streams. I jointly successfully established the EJ Whitten Legends Game, assisted in the development of the Les Twentyman Foundation, created the Les Twentman Foundation Gala Dinner, as well as produced and managed concerts and public events for Jimmy Barnes, Wiggles and Edwin Moses. Key career achievements include orchestrating one of the highest rating events on Australian TV as well as the 2nd highest rating AFL game for the year 2015.
