The KPMG Global Internship program has allowed me the opportunity to spend a month in Sydney, Australia working for KPMG’s Audit, Assurance, and Risk Consulting practice. Furthering my network abroad and working alongside my Australian colleagues offered me a new perspective on business and the world.

Privileged to be selected for KPMG’s two day pre-internship program which provided positive experiences which included speaking with numerous audit and tax professionals and networking with other students from numerous colleges. The experience provided insight to aspects of audit, tax, and advisory functions and attributes of each discipline.

• Contracted with Randstad to work at Vanguard on the Fund Tax team.• Recommended tax opinions to management and business partners to determine fund impact by researching and analyzing corporate actions while utilizing Bloomberg Terminal, SEC filings, and the Internal Revenue Code• Played a key role in supporting European Court of Justice (ECJ) reclaim filings for 15 mutual funds across multiple jurisdictions by reconciling and analyzing the data while maintaining accuracy, timeliness and consistency• Reconciled and analyzed international tax reclaims for 20+ countries and effectively communicated the findings to both internal and external business partners while serving as the key point of contact during a multi-month reclaim cleanup project• Prepared and ensured timely filing of complex book-tax difference computations, federal excise tax returns, international treaty filings, and ad-hoc projects
