The Water Project, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to serving those needlessly suffering from a lack of safe water and sanitation by implementing and maintaining water and sanitation projects in sub-Saharan Africa and educating people about their ability to impact the global water crisis. Over the course of almost 7 years, I have worked with The Water Project as it grew from a start-up to a mature and complex organization.As a member of the Program Department, I helped develop and foster strong relationships built on honesty, trust, and reliability with the teams on the ground in Africa implementing our projects. This included weekly conversations with individual teams as well as trips to the African continent to continue building relationships, provide training, meet the communities we serve, and see first hand the work being done. I worked together with the program team to develop, evaluate, refine, and implement systems for tracking schedules for project implementation and reporting, ensuring projects are done correctly and efficiently. I helped craft that information into donor-focused reports, showing our supporters the impact they are enabling.As Director of Operations and Human Resources, I helped shape the benefits and policies of the organization as it grew from three employees in one office to 12 employees spread across the nation and the world. I maintained all financial records for the organization, including working with a third party accountant to assemble annual Audited Financial Reports and Federal 990 filings. During my time with The Water Project, oversaw the creation of an employee handbook, and researched and implemented new benefits programs for employees including a 401K retirement plan, short-term and long-term disability insurance coverage, and tax-free medical savings plans.

I worked with the members of the board as it grew in size and understanding of its role in shaping and directing the organization.

I served at North Shore Baptist Church during a time when healing and reunification needed to occur within the church body. Through patience and compassionate ministry, I helped the church work through long-standing issues and remember the purpose for which the church exists. My responsibilities included preaching and teaching the scriptures, leading music, and pastoral counsel, as well as carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and landscaping projects to renovate and maintain the church buildings and property.

Mechanical engineer working on various defense antenna systems including topside integration of the DDG1000 and field installation of the Ballistic Missile Early Warning System, Clear, AK. Collaborated with other engineering disciplines both within and outside of Raytheon. Participated in design reviews for both internal assessment and before customers.
